How to Use this shop

It is strongly recommended that you print this page of instructions and keep them alongside you whilst you visit the shop, in case you have any queries.

NB: The shopping software operates successfully with all versions of Netscape Navigator 3.0 and later and Microsoft Explorer 3.0 and later. If you have an older browser and would like to upgrade, both Microsoft and Netscape have sites from which current versions may be downloaded.

If the computer you are using is an older model, say, 486/66MHz and slower, then it may be that the system response will slow somewhat as the number of items added to your basket grows. If this occurs, please be patient whilst your processor handles the data.

AOL/Compuserve Users - Please Note
AOL/CS users may experience difficulty if the site is accessed from within the AOL/CS window: to avoid this, simply minimise the AOL/CS window and start the Internet Explorer (or other) browser supplied with your AOL/CS software so that it is running in a separate window outside the AOL/CS window, then access the site from within this independent browser window.

Shopping

Unless you were presented with additional information during the loading of the shop, advising you that your computer/browser will only permit browsing, rather than full shopping, then you are able to shop on-line. If yours was one of the few systems which cannot use the shop interactively, then please feel free to email your order to us and we will advise total cost and shipping cost by return. Do remember to include your full postal delivery address and return e-mail address if sending an order by e-mail.

On the shopping pages you will generally find one or more `order' buttons such as this one:

Click on these to add a product to your basket.

As soon as you have added a product to your basket, you will be transferred to the Review page where you can see the current contents of your basket. (You can get to this page at any time by pressing one of the Review Basket buttons)

The action of transferring to the Review page confirms that the product has been added to your basket. On the Review page it is also possible to remove an item from your basket by amending the quantity of an item that you have ordered (click in the quantity box to select the value displayed and type in the new value you require). To implement these changes click on the 'recalculate' button, noting that you may need to insert the delivery destination at this time also. Note that customers outside the EU will pay the ex-VAT prices.

If you used the 'review' button to check the contents of your shopping basket, you will need to click on the yellow 'home' button at the bottom of the page to continue shopping.  Alternatively, you can use the 'continue shopping' button just below the shopping basket list.

If you have now selected everything that you wish to purchase on this visit, then the next stage is to `check out'. To do this, press the button marked 'ADD SHIPPING', select the country or area to which your order is going to, then choose the type of delivery service that best suits you (please remember that the UPS system requires a signature on delivery, and your parcel will not be left if there is no one at home)then click on the 'go to payments' button.

Before making your payment, you may wish to check out our terms and conditions of trade, which can be seen by pressing the `Terms & Conditions' button. By placing your order on-line, you are automatically accepting our Terms, so it would make sense to read them first.

It may be that you decide that you have made some poor shopping choices and you now wish to empty your basket and start over again. If this is the case,
change each quantity to zero in the shopping basket, click on the 'recalculate' button,  or simply close the site down if you do not want to continue shopping at this time.

Once you are ready to pay, you are transferred to the Cashier page, where you are asked to enter your personal details to enable us to ship the goods to you and for you to effect payment.

The system will assign a unique order reference automatically.

To move from field to field, use the <tab> key on your keyboard, or click in the field into which you wish to enter information.

Unless yours is a commercial organisation, you can ignore the Company Name field. Take care when entering your name and postal address: if you are paying by credit card, this must be the name and address to which the card is registered. Unless you enter a second specific delivery address, below, this address will also be used as the delivery address.

Make sure that you pick the correct location/delivery location country from the drop-down box(es) since this value is used in calculating shipping costs and will be the final line of your delivery address.

The Post/Zip code is used in payment validation and MUST be entered, if you have such a code. European Union (EU) customers are charged VAT at the UK rate (17.5%) on their purchases.

Finally, if you wish to convey any additional information regarding your order, please enter this in the box marked ``Additional Information" at the bottom of the page (you may have to scroll the page down to see this). If you wish to amend any of the data entered, simply click within the required field and make the amendments.

At this stage, you should be ready to move on to the actual payment process.

The final payment page shows a summary of your order with final pricing, including shipping costs and any applicable UK taxes (EU customers only). Once you are satisfied that your order is correct, select a payment method by clicking that option or use the Netbanx SSL encrypted payment system by clicking on the 'pay by netbanx' button.

Otherwise, choose the payment method and click on the `continue' button to submit your order. This will generate an e-mail to you if you entered your e-mail address correctly and submit your order to us.

You should receive an e-mail confirmation of your order within a few minutes. The e-mail will also contain notes/instructions to you regarding any action you need to take to complete payment for the goods (eg Payment by Telephone).

If paying by NetBanx, click on the NetBanx button.

This will transfer you to the NetBanx secure site. On the NetBanx page you need to enter your credit card number, its expiry date, security code and your house number, Country and zip-code using the fields provided.

If your card is a Switch card, then the `valid from' and issue number fields will also need completing. Once you are happy with the details you have entered, press the `SUBMIT' button once only.

The screen will indicate that the transaction is in progress and upon completion you will be presented with a new window reporting the conclusion of the transaction.

Netbanx will send an automatic receipt to the email address you have specified.

At this stage your browser will display a window showing the address to which the order e-mail was sent and giving the option of leaving the store or returning to the shop entrance to do it all again! Press the button to make your choice.
